Living Room / June 20, 2018 / Gaetane Noemi.
Now this living room is very clever! Take a quick glance and it looks colourful and fun, but really focus in and you see that the main hue is actually plain white! Thanks to a few bright touches, the entire vibe has been transformed into a more kaleidoscopic feel, but not in a cloying or over the top way.
Warm, enveloping and charmingly simplistic, rustic living rooms are always a real treat to behold and the best part is that they can work well as either a large-scale installation or as a small living room idea. Thanks to a lot of natural elements being brought into play, you can decide whether you want an airy or a cosy vibe and adapt your ethos from there.
While there's a huge range of suitable colour schemes to choose from, you'll normally find that white features prominently, when a contemporary finish is desired, as it keeps everything looking uncluttered and bright. As a general rule, black is a natural contrast choice against the vibrancy of white and you'll never hear anybody claiming that monochrome is out or old-fashioned. Glossy, low-level furniture will always be at the centre of any contemporary creation too.
Great for a living room that is perhaps an unusual shape or unfortunately sized, an eclectic design ethos can be wonderfully adaptable, exciting and eye-catching, not to mention a fabulous way to express your true self.
